- some announcements from varied context of situations
- the social functions of announcements regarding to the context of situation, the target readers, and the points of interests or importance
- the structure of each announcement including the general structure and detail descriptions
- the lexico-grammatical features of announcement by determining the choice of words and expressions, the use of direct and indirect sentences, the tense, the fonts, the punctuations, etc.
- how to construct announcement according to the context of situation, social function, text structure, and lexico-grammatical features.
The key features of announcement include:
- Social Function
The social function of announcement is to share planned or organized activities
- Generic Structure
The generic structures of announcement are heading/purposes and detail information.
- Significant Lexico-grammatical Features
The significant lexico-grammatical features are common expressions in announcement, singular and plural nouns with or without articles a, the, this, those, my, their, etc., the pronunciation, intonation, spellings, and punctuation.
What I like most about this activity is to demonstrate the differences and similarities between a number of announcement from varied context of situation, in regard to the social functions, text structures, and lexico-grammatical features.
What I need to improve/learn more is to produce announcements contextually with acceptable social functions, text structures, and lexico-grammatical features.
